Description

LEINTHALL STARKES CP LEINTHALL STARKES SO 46 NW. 6/37 Lime Brook Cottage II House. C17, part rebuilt mid-C18, restored late C20. Sandstone rubble with some original timber-framing with rendered infill. Slate and plain tiled roofs with original rendered ridge stack to north wing with recapped Cl7 brick shaft and also a later brick shaft. There is an additional chimney stack at the south end of the main ridge. Main C18 range aligned north/south with original single-bay wing at north end. Two storeys and attic. Framing of north wing is partly renewed. There are two rows of panels at first floor level and a collar and tie-beam truss with three struts and a V-strut in the apex at the north end. East front elevation: main range has two ground floor 3-light windows and two first floor 2-light windows; all have cambered heads. There is a central gabled C20 rubble porch which has a 6-panelled door with a cambered head and single-light casements in the side elevations. The north wing has a 2-light window on both floors and also a first floor single-light window. Attic light at south end. There is a C20 lean-to addition at the north end with a door in its east elevation. Interior said to have large fireplace in original part.
