Description
These stables, located about 25 yards north-east of the Old Rectory, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of sandstone rubble with a brick structure and a stone slate roof, featuring brick end stacks with sandstone dressings. The building has a rectangular porch that is aligned north-west to south-east and consists of one storey and an attic.
On the south elevation, there are two windows with 2-light wooden casements, each light featuring a 2-centred head within square openings that have open spandrels. There are gable fronts on the left and right, with a ledged two-leaved door on the right-hand gable and a central stable door that includes a 4-paned light in the upper leaf. The stables are included for their group value as a prominent building near The Old Rectory and the Church of St Mary.
