Description
Burghill Lodge is a house dating to the 17th century, originally in a ruinous condition. It is timber-framed and has weatherboard cladding, with a corrugated metal roof. The house follows a half H-plan, featuring a central entrance, a large axial stack, and lateral stacks. It has two storeys, and also incorporates a cellar and attics. The south-west front has three gables, each with two six-pane windows, and a central six-panelled door. The main axial stack features six attached diagonal shafts. During the early 20th century, various original 17th-century plaster ceilings were removed from the house and relocated to a neighbouring property, The Lodge. The interior of Burghill Lodge was inaccessible at the time of a resurvey in January 1986.
