Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory that has been converted into a house, dating back to 1791. It is constructed from sandstone rubble with brick dressings and features a hipped Welsh slate roof, along with sandstone rubble and brick end stacks. The building has a rectangular plan, with its main front facing southeast.
The southeast elevation includes three late 18th-century sash windows. The ground floor features three French casements with glazing bars, likely added in the late 20th century. There is a large brick relieving arch above the outer windows on both storeys. The entire ground floor is covered by a late 20th-century wrought iron veranda with a perspex roof.
On the rear elevation, there are attic windows with pointed heads and late 18th-century casements, one on either side of the gable, which has the date tablet beneath it. Inside, the property includes a cantilevered staircase from the late 18th to early 19th century, featuring stick balusters, which is said to have been relocated from another site.
