Description
This barn, located about 60 yards north of Clehonger Court, is possibly from the 17th century and has undergone later alterations. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame with woven infill, covered in corrugated iron and weatherboards. The roof is made of corrugated iron with half hips. The barn has ten bays aligned west-south-west to east-north-east. The north elevation shows some exposed wall framing with lath infill above a deep plinth that includes vent loops, while the rest of the structure is irregularly clad in corrugated iron. There are two cart entries, each with segmental heads located about a third of the way in from each end, which have ledged and corrugated iron doors. Inside, the frame consists of four square panels high from the cill to the wall plate, and the trusses feature two collars and ties. Clehonger Court itself is not included in this listing.
