Description

Gosford Bridge is an early 19th-century road bridge that spans Gosford Brook. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings. The bridge features a single-span segmental arch, which is adorned with alternating dark and light ashlar facing-ring voussoirs and a keystone. The approach to the bridge is supported by coursed rubble retaining walls, with spandrels and a cambered parapet. The parapet is topped with bullnose dressed sandstone coping. A simple buttress is located on the north-east side of the bridge.
