Description
No. 1A on St Owen Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built in the early 19th century and features a sandstone plinth with stucco applied to brick and a slate roof. The building has two axial stacks at the rear and follows a lobby entry plan. It stands three storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement, with 2/2 sash windows on the first and second floors and a moulded wooden eaves.
The central entrance is a four-panel door with an overlight, set within a moulded case that has a stucco moulded architrave. This door is flanked by two 2/2 sash windows.
Inside, there is a 19th-century winder staircase with stick balusters leading to the second floor. The attic contains 19th-century fireplaces and four-panel doors. On the first floor, there are wall cupboards and ceiling cornices. The ground floor features a corner fireplace, four-panel doors, a wall cupboard, and ceiling cornices.
