Description

The statue of Sir George Cornewall Lewis, located in St Peter's Square on the east side, was created around 1864 by Baron Marochetti. It is made of bronze and stands on a polished granite plinth. Sir George Cornewall Lewis served as Member of Parliament for the County of Hereford from 1847 to 1852 and held several significant positions including Chancellor of the Exchequer, Home Secretary, and Secretary for War.
