Description
Upper Grove is a farmhouse, probably dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and finished in roughcast, with a Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. The building has a rectangular plan that is aligned north to south and stands two storeys tall.
On the west elevation, there are four windows in a 2:2 arrangement with glazing bar sashes; the left part of the elevation is higher than the right. The ground floor features two similar windows to the right of a central entry, which is under an early 20th-century gabled porch, and one window to the left. Attached to the left gable is a two-bay granary. The rear elevation has a cross-casement window roughly at the center of the ground floor. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to have heavy ceiling beams.
