Description
Siddington Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with remodelling that occurred in the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with a moulded eaves cornice and brick stacks at the rear. The building has two storeys, cellars, and attics, which are accessed through three dormers. The main part of the farmhouse has three windows: on the left are 16-pane glazing bar sashes, on the right are sashes with vertical glazing bars, and there is a Venetian style window in the centre of the first floor, although the outer lights are blocked while the inaccurately high cornices remain. The central entrance features a six-panel door beneath an altered fanlight, flanked by narrow sidelights. To the right is a two-storey, three-bay wing that has two-light windows and a 20th-century porch. Inside, the dining room has a framed ceiling with stop-chamfered beams, while the ground floor room on the left includes a panelled door. A dog-leg staircase with turned balusters leads to the upper levels, and the roof trusses feature principals with curved feet.
