Description
Dinchall Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in the early and mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with plain tiled roofs. The entrance elevation features two storeys and a garret, with three windows: wide 16-pane glazing bar sashes on the right (some of which have been renewed) and a three-light cross window with a segmental head on the left. There is a central flush panelled door beneath a flat hood supported by brackets. A lower wing on the left partly obscures a large brick stack with offsets. At the rear, there is a large mid-19th century extension that is two storeys tall with a half-basement. This extension has three windows: 16-pane glazing bar sashes with keystones and flush framed boxes; the central windows are blank, and the ground floor windows have been adapted as doorways. Inside, there is a fine mid-19th century staircase that rises through three floors, featuring a ramped handrail and a raised landing on the top floor. The roof trusses in the 17th century part of the building have curved feet on the principals.
