Description

Slate House Farm is a farmhouse dating from the mid 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century and 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond and features hipped slate roofs, along with two 19th-century ridge brick stacks, which were originally a single axial stack. The building is designed in an L-plan and has two storeys with a three-bay front. The central bay is fully advanced and hipped, featuring a chamfered plinth and an offset first-floor band.

The central doorway has a chamfered elliptical arch and is covered by a 20th-century conservatory. Above the door is a lozenge of burnt headers, flanked by single French windows. On the first floor, there is a glazing bar sash window above the porch, a margin light to the left, and another glazing bar sash to the right. The rear wing also includes a plinth and band. Inside, there is an early 19th-century stick baluster staircase with a carved string, along with plain chamfered and ogee stopped beams, and a roll-moulded bressumer and beam.
