Description

Addlethorpe Mill is a tower mill built around 1830. It features a red brick, tarred, tapering six-stage tower with corbelled eaves, although the cap is missing. The entrance has planked double doors, with single openings on each side that contain planked and fixed glazing bar lights. Inside, the mill retains the lower part of the upright shaft along with a spur wheel, gearing, and fittings for two pairs of grey stones, as well as a kibbler, engine, and drive shafts. This tower mill was constructed to replace a previous post mill.
