Description
This building is a barn and granary located approximately 20 metres to the south-west of Eaton Hall. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone later alterations. The structure features a timber frame with brick infill from the 18th and 19th centuries, topped with a plain tile roof that was raised in the 19th century. At the rear, there is a large rubble external stack that has been reduced to eaves level. The barn is two storeys high and has a two-window range, including a two-light mullion window and a mullion and transom light. There is a later doorway and an opening to the left, along with various other lights and entrances. To the right, there is a later wing constructed of sandstone rubble with a brick gable, featuring a plain tile roof with corrugated asbestos at the rear. The right side has a loft opening above a plank door and another opening. Inside, the first floor includes a rubble fireplace with a cambered oak lintel. Originally, this building was one range with a barn to the south, but it was divided around 1990.
