Description
The Grove is a house dated 1837, with later additions at the rear. It features a rendered exterior and a stone plinth, topped with a low pitched hipped slate roof that has oversailing eaves. There is a lateral stack on the left side. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with three bays. The central section includes a square open porch with pilaster jambs and an entablature. The wide door has four fielded panels and an overlight. On either side of the door, there are single 20th-century casements set in original openings that are within shallow segmentally arched recesses, along with 20th-century canopies. The first floor has three smaller 20th-century casements in original openings. The right side of the building features a three-light, two-storey canted bay on the left. At the rear, there is a two-storey mono-pitched addition with a parapet that matches the main structure, as well as a lower brick addition on the left side. The interior has not been inspected.
