Description

The Court is a large detached house dating from the early to mid-19th century, with a stable wing added in the early 20th century. It is constructed of stucco with a stone plinth, and has a hipped slate roof with paired wooden brackets supporting the oversailing eaves, along with lateral stacks. The building has a rectangular plan with wings extending to the rear (north), and a stable wing attached to the east.

The main house is two storeys high and has a four-bay facade, plus a two-storey, three-light canted bay on the right. The facade features an off-centre French window, and three glazing bar sashes in a single-storey canted bay to the left. A single glazing bar sash is followed by another canted bay with central double sashes. The first floor has similarly sized sashes. The two-bay left return has a heavy stone pilastered doorcase, with a blind bay to the right. A two-storey, hipped range extends to the rear, with a parapet on its right side, and three gabled wings projecting at right angles to it.

The stable wing has a tall, central round arched entrance with a stable door and fanlight. A loading door is positioned above, with a hipped dormer roof. Small, square windows flank the entrance. The building also includes an octagonal, domed dovecote/cupola with a weather vane.
