Description

The Grange is a large, detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of gault brick with a low-pitched slate roof featuring oversailing eaves and symmetrically placed stacks. The entrance front is three bays wide and symmetrical, with a slight central break and pilaster quoins. The central doorway features six fielded panels and a fanlight with radial glazing bars, all within a round-arched recessed panel with moulded impost blocks and gauged brick arches. Flanking the door are single sash windows with glazing bars and raised sills, each with a flat brick arch above. The first floor has three similar sash windows with glazing bars. The garden front also has three bays, including a two-storey canted bay window with tall 15-pane sashes to the ground floor and smaller glazing bar sashes to the first floor; single glazing bar sashes are located either side of the canted bay on the ground floor. The interior contains a contemporary staircase and window shutters.
