Description
This is an early 18th-century house, originally a single dwelling, later divided into two separate residences with 19th-century additions at each end. The exterior is constructed of coursed blue lias rubble and brick, with some areas rendered, and has a pantile roof. A central section is steeply pitched and features a single ridge stack, while three gable stacks are positioned around the building.
The central section, two stories high and four bays wide, has a centrally placed 19th-century ogee-headed timber porch. The porch contains a door with four glazed lancet panels, flanked to the south by a single 19th-century Yorkshire sash window with a segmental head, and to the north by a reset 18th-century glazing bar sash window. Beyond a boundary wall is a 20th-century door. Above, the windows include a 20th-century glazing bar casement, a 19th-century Yorkshire sash, and a barred 19th-century two-light Yorkshire sash. A two-story, one-bay addition to the south features a three-light Yorkshire sash window above a 19th-century two-light Yorkshire sash. The two-story, one-bay addition to the north has a 20th-century flush door and a 19th-century plain sash window on each floor. The rear elevation exhibits irregular 19th- and 20th-century window placements.
