Description
Corner Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse built from coursed blue lias rubble and brick, featuring a steeply pitched pantile roof with gables that have kneelers and two gable stacks. The building has two storeys plus garrets and is designed in an L-shape with two bays. The north front includes a 19th-century glazing bar fixed light and a 20th-century two-light casement window. Above these are a 19th-century glazing bar sash window and a single 19th-century two-light Yorkshire sash window. On the west gable, there is an off-centre 18th-century doorway with a moulded wood case and curved brackets supporting the hood, leading to a 19th-century half-glazed door. Above this doorway is a 19th-century two-light Yorkshire sash window, with two brick bands, the upper one being cogged, and above that is a 20th-century two-light glazing bar casement. The 19th-century south range facing High Street is constructed of brick with a pantile roof, has two storeys and three bays, and features a single ridge stack, but is noted as being of no special interest.
