Description
Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1710, with 20th-century alterations. The structure is made of coursed blue lias rubble and brick, topped with a pantile roof and features a brick band on the gable. It has an L-shaped plan. The west front is two storeys high and consists of three bays. There is a central 20th-century brick porch with a pantile roof, flanked by two 19th-century three-light Yorkshire sash windows. Above the porch, there is a 19th-century glazing bar fixed light and a 20th-century single light casement window, both arranged irregularly on the facade. The rear elevation has a datestone in the east wall inscribed "I.O. 1710". Inside, the roof retains original timbers, with principal rafters halved and pegged at the ridge, and purlins and collars tenoned into the rafters. The common rafters are either tenoned into the purlins or notched over them. There is a stud partition finished with reed and plaster, and the floors are made of gypsum.
