Description
Church Farm House is a 17th-century farmhouse that has undergone extensive alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed blue lias rubble and brick, topped with a pantile roof featuring a single gable and a single ridge stack. Notably, there is an impressive 17th-century curved, stepped gable on the south side, and the building is designed in an L-shape.
The south front has two storeys and consists of three bays, with a single bay cross wing that projects at the east end. There is also a single-storey 19th-century block in the re-entrant angle, which includes a tall stack. The central doorway features a 19th-century panelled door, with a plain sash window to the west. Above the doorway, there is a central two-light Yorkshire sash window, accompanied by a similar sash to the west and a three-light Yorkshire sash to the east, all of which are set under segmental heads. The cross wing has a 19th-century plank door with a small 20th-century casement window above. This building is included for its group value only.
