Description
Yew Tree Cottage is an 18th-century cottage that has undergone alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed blue lias rubble and brick, topped with a pantile roof that features a single ridge stack. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and consists of three bays.
The east front has an off-centre 19th-century close boarded door, which is sheltered by a 20th-century glazed porch. To the south of the door, there is a 19th-century two-light Yorkshire sash window with a timber lintel, and to the north, there is another 19th-century two-light Yorkshire sash window with a segmental head. The south gable has a blocked opening, and above it, there is another blocked opening along with a single 20th-century casement window.
Inside, the cottage features a large fireplace that includes a re-used bressummer with billet moulding and mortices on the underside.
