Description

Two houses, dating from around 1700, were later altered in the late 18th century, late 19th century, and late 20th century. The houses are colourwashed brick, with an underlying timber frame and a steep-pitched pantile roof. They have dentillated wooden eaves, a single gable, a single rear wall, and two ridge stacks. The houses are two storeys high and have a three-window front. They contain three two-light Yorkshire sash windows. A blocked central doorway is flanked to the right by a late 19th-century single-pane shop window with wooden pilasters and a cornice. To the left of the doorway is a late 19th-century half-glazed door, a scraper, and a 20th-century single-pane window, all beneath a wooden lintel.

Inside, there are five jowled bay posts, and on the ground floor a stud wall without nogging. A softwood winder stair has a stud enclosure and wattle and daub nogging. The building’s structure reflects a T-plan design.
