Description
No. 5 and 5A on Church Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and flat. It dates from the early 18th century, with a shopfront added around 1875. The building is made of colourwashed brick and features a concrete tile roof. It has a second-floor band, cogged eaves, coped gables, and a single gable stack. The structure is three storeys high and has a two-window range of segment-headed glazing bar sashes. Above this, there are two similar sashes with flat heads. The full-width glazed brick shopfront has a cornice with a cast iron crest. There is a central beaded panelled stable door with a slatted vent above it. To the left of the door, there is a segment-headed entry with a close-boarded door and a vent above. To the right, there is a single-pane shop window.
