Description
The building at 12, 12A, and 13 Market Place in Newark on Trent is a group of two houses, now used as offices. It dates from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and the mid-20th century. The exterior is rendered and painted, with the roof hidden. A first-floor panel, an eaves band, and a panelled parapet are prominent features. The building is three storeys high and has a three-window front, featuring 12-pane sash windows. A ground-floor arcade is supported by four Tuscan columns. Behind this arcade is a central door flanked by single, 20th-century bow windows. The left return side has two 12-pane sash windows on the upper floors, with a 20th-century bow window below. A set-back rear wing features 12-pane sash windows on each upper floor.
