Description
Nos. 2 and 3 Church Street are two houses that have been converted into a shop. They were built around 1830 and have undergone alterations in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. The buildings are made of colourwashed brick and feature a slate roof. They have moulded wooden eaves and a single ridge stack. The structure has three storeys and a three-window range of segment-headed plain sashes, with the central window being blank. Above this, there is identical fenestration with smaller sashes. The ground floor has a late 19th-century wooden shopfront that is grained and includes reeded pilasters and curved brackets supporting a fascia cornice, which displays a shop sign in brilliant lettering. There is an off-centre recessed glazed door, with a single window to the right and three windows to the left. Further to the left, there is an elliptical arched carriage opening that contains a showcase and a door.
