Description

Two houses, now two shops, were built in the early 18th century and subsequently altered in the mid- and late 19th and 20th centuries. The front facing Kirkgate has a rendered first floor and a gabled, hipped pantile roof. One coped gable and two chimney stacks are visible. The building is two storeys high and has a frontage of four windows on Kirkgate and two on Church Street. The Kirkgate front features two blank windows and, to the right, two sash windows with margin lights. Church Street has two sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor on Kirkgate has a splayed corner doorway with a glazed door and overlight, flanked by two single-pane shop windows, all under a continuous corniced fascia. To the right of the Kirkgate front is an altered late 19th-century shopfront with a doorway to the left and a single-pane window to the right, under a plastic fascia. The interior may contain timber framing.
