Description
The Blue Man public house and adjoining cottages date from the early 19th century, with later 19th-century and 20th-century alterations. The public house is painted brick, while the cottages are brick with gabled concrete tile and hipped pantile roofing. The public house has a single ridge stack and a single gable stack, while the cottages have a central ridge stack. A first-floor band is present on the public house, and the cottages have dentillated eaves. Some cottage windows are boarded up.
The three-storey block to the left of the building features two segment-headed casements with shutters on the first floor, and above these, two small Yorkshire sash windows. The ground floor has an off-centre door, flanked to the left by two segment-headed casements and to the right by a single one.
The two-storey cottage range to the right has three windows. The left window is a two-light Yorkshire sash positioned over a carriage entry. Below the sash window, to the left, is an elliptical arched carriage entry with 20th-century doors. To the right of the carriage entry are two windows flanked by single doors, all featuring segment heads.
