Description
Three houses, now used as three shops (two of which are disused), were built in the mid-18th century and raised in the early 19th century. Later alterations occurred in the mid- and late-19th century. The building is constructed of brick with a pantile roof. It features a plinth, bands marking the first and second floors, half-round brick dentilated eaves, coped gables, a single ridge stack and two gable stacks, with the left-hand stack being external. The building is three storeys high, with a three-window front. The central window on the first floor is a 20th-century casement, flanked to the left by a segment-headed glazing bar sash window and to the right by a 20th-century oblong oriel window. Above, the central window is again a 20th-century casement, flanked by single segment-headed glazing bar sashes. On the ground floor, a late-19th-century wooden shopfront is centrally located, featuring a fascia supported by brackets and a splayed central doorway with a glazed door, flanked by single-pane windows. To the left, a 19th-century six-pane shop window has a cornice, flanked to the left by a 20th-century door with overlight, and beyond a round-headed entry with a gate. To the right there's a fielded six-panel door with overlight, and a 19th-century three-light shop window with shaped heads and an altered cornice.
