Description

The Clive Lancaster Post Office comprises three early 19th-century houses, now combined as a post office and shop. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. It features chamfered eaves and a variety of stacks including two gable, three ridge, and one side wall stack. The three-storey facade has a five-window arrangement of glazing bar sashes, with alternate windows recessed on two stories and featuring dentilled lintels. The second-floor windows are smaller than those below, all with keystoned lintels. A central panelled door is topped with an overlight, also featuring a keystoned lintel. To the right of the main door is a round-headed entry, followed by a 20th-century replica wooden shopfront and another round-headed entry. To the left of the main entrance, an early 20th-century shop window has been altered, and a wall postbox bearing the image of George VI is situated to its left, alongside a plain sash window with a keystoned lintel.
