Description

A row of five houses at 2-10 King Street, Newark on Trent, dates from around 1800. The houses are built of brick with stone and stucco dressings, and have pantile roofs topped by two gable and two ridge stacks. The eaves are rebated, and the windows have multi-keystone lintels. Most of the doors are six-panelled, beaded, with overlights and plain jambs. The houses are two storeys high, with a five-window range of glazing bar sashes. The second window from the left has been replaced with a 20th-century casement. On the ground floor, a pair of doors is flanked by a single window at each end; the first door and window on the left are 20th-century replacements. Between these, a single door is flanked to the right by a sash window.
