Description

Cockett Farmhouse is a red-brick farmhouse dating to the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It has brick and ashlar dressings and a concrete pantile roof, with two red-brick gable stacks, the left one dating to the 20th century. The eaves have a dogtooth detail. The main block is two and a half storeys and three bays wide. A 19th-century porch has a brick coped gable with kneelers, and a chamfered arched entrance with a flush ashlar quoin surround. The entrance door is panelled and partly glazed, set within a moulded wooden frame. There are tripartite casement windows either side of the porch. Above are two similar casements, along with a smaller central casement. Above this are a single small casement flanked by single semi-circular casements, all within chamfered, flush ashlar surrounds, except for the semi-circular casements which have simpler chamfered ashlar surrounds. A rear range extends from the main block and has a catslide roof.
