Description

Number 12 is a house located on Church Street in Mansfield Woodhouse, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble, with some parts rendered, and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has projecting ashlar quoins and architraves, as well as moulded coved eaves. It stands two storeys tall with four bays and includes two gable and two ridge stacks.

The windows are glazing bar sashes. On the east front, to the left, there is a casement in a blocked doorway that has a projecting architrave and a splayed lintel, flanked by single sashes. To the right, there is a projecting moulded ashlar doorcase with a hood and fanlight, which contains an 18th-century panelled door. Further to the right is another sash window. Above this, there are four sashes.

The south gable features a door with a round-headed opening to the left, and above it, to the left, is a glazing bar light, with a casement to the right. The north gable has a gabled two-storey addition with two string courses, an off-centre door, and three small 20th-century lights, with a central casement above.

On the west side, there is a cross casement to the left and a sash to its right, with a central sash above. Further up, there is another sash and a cross casement to the right. The property is enclosed by a dwarf boundary wall made of ashlar with half-round coping. To the right of the wall, there are four ashlar steps with a ramped, curved iron handrail, vase and stem newels, and stick balusters.
