Description
The Angel Inn is a public house located on High Street in Mansfield Woodhouse, dating from the early 19th century and restored in 1984. The building features dressed stone and coursed squared rubble, topped with a hipped concrete tile roof. It has a plinth, a single ridge, and two gable stacks. The structure is two storeys tall and has an L-plan layout, measuring five bays wide by five bays deep.
The main north front includes a 20th-century addition on the left with paired sash windows, followed by a single sash window. To the right, there is a door and a triple sash window. On the upper level, there are two sashes on the left, a stair light to the right, and two more sashes to the far right. The west front features two sashes on the left, followed by a casement window, and then a 20th-century lean-to porch in the return angle with a pair of doors. To the right of the porch, there are two sashes, with a blocked opening and a plain sash above, followed by a sash and a casement window. The south gable has a tiny window, with two 20th-century casements above. There is a large 20th-century addition to the east that is not of special interest.
