This is a house located at 82 Chesterfield Road South in Mansfield, dating from the early 18th century, with a remodel around 1790 and some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed from coursed rubble sandstone, which is partly rendered and painted, and features ashlar dressings. It has a slate roof with two brick gable stacks and a single coped gable at the rear. The house is three storeys high and has a two-window range, designed in an L-plan.
The southwest front displays two 12-pane sash windows on the ground floor and two 9-pane sash windows above, all featuring flush ashlar surrounds. The northwest front includes a round-headed doorway with a six-panel door and a fanlight. The southeast front has a two-storey rear wing with a single two-light flush mullion window on each floor. The northeast rear has two-light flush mullion windows that illuminate the staircase.
Inside, the house has chamfered beams with stops and an early 18th-century dogleg staircase with replaced stick balusters. On the first floor, there is a fine early 18th-century fireplace with panelled sides and a central large keystone with flushes, while another room features a simple late 18th-century fireplace with a contemporary iron dog grate.
