Description
The Church Hall, located 20 metres north-west of the Church of St Mark, was built around 1907, with a mid-20th century addition at the rear. It is possibly designed by Temple Moore and features a combination of uncoursed ashlar and brick, with ashlar dressings and steeply pitched plain tile roofs, reflecting the Perpendicular Revival style.
The building is two storeys high and has a five-window range. The west gable showcases a traceried three-light pointed-arch window with a hoodmould and stops, along with a small flat-headed opening above it. Below this, there is a full-width single-storey porch with a flat roof and a coped parapet, featuring a central elliptical-arched doorway with recessed half-glazed double doors. On either side of the doorway, there are two-light stone mullioned windows.
The south side includes a projecting single-storey range with five gables, four of which have stone mullioned two-light lancet windows with label moulds. The right gable features a similar window, accompanied by a segment-headed doorway to the right, while the left return has a flat-headed doorway. Above and behind the main block, there are four large gabled dormers with two-light casements that have leaded glazing. The rear gable is equipped with two square external stacks and a single-storey flat-roofed addition on piles. The building is included for its group value.
