Description
This is an obelisk dating from 1797, located 20 metres north-west of Vincent Lodge in Papplewick. It was erected by Frederick Montagu of Papplewick Hall. The structure is made of ashlar and features an octagonal pedestal with a bolection moulded plinth and cornice. The pedestal is inscribed with the words 'Vincent Plantation February the 14th 1797 F.M.' and supports an octagonal obelisk above.
