Description
This building complex, consisting of a barn, stable, and cart sheds, is located 100 meters north of Weir Mill Farmhouse. It dates from the late 18th century and the early to mid-19th century. The structure is made of coursed and squared rubble, featuring roofs of concrete tile, pantile, slate, and asbestos, with coped gables.
On the east side, there is a lean-to shed on the left with a door that has a segmental head. The barn to the right includes an additional buttress and an off-centre pair of doors flanked by single casements, along with two breathers. The north gable features stone steps leading to a door with a segmental head, and below it is a kennel. The west side has two doors with segmental heads alternating with six breathers, and above these, there are three breathers and a casement. The barn has a double butt purlin roof with struts, which has been restored. The south end contains a loft and the remains of a pigeoncote in the gable.
The stable, located to the west, consists of three bays and includes three doors and a slatted casement. The four-bay cart shed to the north is supported by four iron posts. On the west side, there is a lean-to shed on the left with a door flanked by single casements and an external side wall stack. To the right, there is an open cart shed from the 20th century, which has five bays.
