Description

LINBY off QUARRY LANE SK 55 SW (east side) 1/97 Barn, stable and cart sheds lOOM north of Weir Mill Farmhouse II Barn, stable and cart sheds. Late C18 and early and mid C19. Coursed and squared rubble with concrete tile, pantile and slate and asbestos roofs. Coped gables. East side has to left, lean- to shed with door with segmental head. Barn, to right, has additional buttress and off-centre pair of doors flanked by single casements plus 2 breathers. North gable has stone steps with kennel below, leading to door with segmental head. West side has 2 doors with segmental heads alternating with 6 breathers. Above, 3 breathers and a casement. Double butt purlin roof with struts, restored. South end has loft and remains of pigeoncote in gable. Stable, to west, 3 bays, has 3 doors and a slatted casement. 4 bay cart shed, to north, has 4 iron posts. West side has to left, lean-to shed with door flanked by single casements, and external side wall stack. To right, open cart shed, C20, 5 bays.
