Description

A row of eight cottages, now nine, was built around 1800. The construction is of coursed and squared rubble, with some areas rendered, and has pantile roofs. There are four gable and three ridge stacks. The cottages are two storeys high and 16 bays wide, forming an L-shaped layout. Most windows are Yorkshire sashes with glazing bars; however, the south side has two 20th-century casements on each floor. A door is located in the return angle, and a casement is situated in the gable above.

The east front features varied porch details. Number 9A has a gabled, rendered porch flanked by single sashes. Number 11 has a gabled rubble porch, with a square oriel window to the left and a sash window to the right. Number 15 includes a door flanked by a sash window to the left and a square 20th-century oriel to the right. Number 17 features a gabled glazed porch flanked by single sashes. Number 19 has a rubble porch flanked by single sashes. Number 21 has a rustic trellis porch flanked by single sashes. Number 23 has a rendered porch flanked by two 20th-century casements. Number 25 showcases a gabled timber porch flanked by single sashes. Above this, to the right, are two 20th-century casements flanked to the left by one sash and to the right by two sashes. This group value reflects their architectural and historical significance.
