Description
The building consists of walls, railings, and an attached covered playground at the Infant School, constructed in 1878. It features cast iron and red brick with ashlar dressings, topped by a hipped slate roof adorned with ornate ridge tiles and terracotta finials. The covered playground is rectangular in shape and has chamfered corners on the south side. The north side has a plain brick wall, while the lower walls on the east and west sides have ashlar coping. Five cast iron columns support the open front facing south. To the east, there is a brick wall with regularly spaced square piers that have ashlar caps. This wall extends along the street, accompanied by a lower wall with ashlar coping and iron railings, which includes gables. The wall then continues along the south boundary, featuring a taller coped wall.
