Description
The building is an Arts and Crafts block with attached covered playgrounds, constructed in 1904 and designed by Richard Hall. It is made of red brick with slate roofs and reconstituted stone dressings.
The covered playground to the north of the main school features three cast iron columns at the front, with the remaining walls being brick. It has a hipped slate roof. A linking wall to the east connects to another similar playground that has a classroom above, characterized by rusticated quoins. The ground floor of this section has two cast iron columns, and above them are three pairs of casement windows. To the left, there is a slightly projecting wing that includes a round-headed doorway with double doors and an overlight. Above this doorway is a curved oriel window with triple casements, and the entire structure is topped with a parapet that has coping all around.
