Description

This gatepier, dating from around 1754, is likely the work of architect Thomas Wright. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and ashlar in a classical style, featuring a square plan. The structure includes a plinth, three bands, a moulded cornice, and a pedimented capital. Both the north and south sides have round-headed niches. This gatepier is part of the architectural scheme associated with the former Nuthall Temple.
