Description
The farm buildings and granary located to the rear of Home Farm date back to 1664 and the 18th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. They are constructed from coursed rubble and raised brick, topped with slate roofs, and are arranged around three sides of a courtyard.
The east range is a single storey made of coursed rubble, featuring blank and partly collapsed inner and outer walls, with the roofs completely removed. The north range has three storeys on the eastern side, transitioning to a lower former barn range on the west, which has many irregularly placed and partially blocked openings in the inner walls. At the north-west corner, there is a former granary with a datestone from 1664, which may have been relocated. The irregular west range is two storeys high, with rubble lower walls and partial brick upper walls. This building is believed to be situated on the site of a former medieval manor house, although no architectural evidence of this remains.
