Description
The Cottage is a house built in the early 19th century by the Spencer family. It is constructed of stucco and features a hipped slate roof. The building has a moulded ashlar plinth and coved eaves, with three side wall stacks and a single roof stack. The house is two storeys tall and has three bays, with a square plan and a rear wing. The windows are glazing bar sashes with jalousies. The front of the house has a central reeded doorcase with decorative paterae and a panelled door topped with a geometrical overlight, flanked by single sash windows. Above the door, there are three additional sashes. On the east side, there are three 20th-century casement windows and a door, with a sash window to the right above. The west side features a single-storey gabled outbuilding from the mid-20th century, a 20th-century porch, and a conservatory to its right, with two sashes above.
