Description
The gateway to the churchyard of the Church of St. Leonard is located 45 metres south of the church and dates from the late 19th century. It is constructed from ashlar and iron. The design features a coped wall set on a plinth, which slopes down to meet an engaged and moulded column topped with a capital that is decorated with a fleuron. This column supports an iron overthrow that holds a central suspended glass and iron lantern. On the opposite side, a single similar column and wall support the other end of the overthrow. The gateway includes a central iron gate and extends for 5 metres. This structure is included in the listing for its group value.
