Description
This pair of ice houses dates from the late 18th century and is constructed from ashlar, dressed coursed rubble, red and blue brick, and iron. The buildings feature three entrances, with a central entrance that has a single archway and is flanked by projecting, ashlar coped walls made of dressed coursed rubble. Each ice house is topped with an iron ventilator cap. To the right, there is a larger, similar entrance that has been blocked, along with matching flanking walls and a red brick and ashlar ventilator shaft. On the left side, an ashlar coped brick wall features a larger archway that is also blocked with brick, and the sloped flanking walls are similar in style. This entrance is topped with a blue brick ventilator shaft. All entrances are currently blocked with brick.
