Description

The Cottage is a former public house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a pantile roof and features a central rendered red brick ridge stack. The building is a single storey plus garret and has two bays. There are two glazing bar Yorkshire sashes on the front. The south gable front includes a doorway with a wooden door set in a larger, partially blocked opening, and to the right is a glazing bar fixed light. Above this is a 20th-century casement window. At the rear, there is a coursed rubble lean-to extension with a single rendered red brick stack.
