Description

The barn and attached stable block at Ranby Hall dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of dressed coursed rubble, render, and red brick, featuring a hipped pantile roof. The barn is 2 and a half storeys tall and has a central doorway with double wooden doors set under a segmental arch, along with blocked ventilation slits.

To the right of the barn is a two-storey wing made of dressed rubble and render, which has 11 bays and a hipped pantile roof. This wing includes three brick ridge stacks, a single brick gable stack, and another single brick stack at the front. The seven bays with blocked arches project slightly.

From left to right, there is a single blocked doorway under a segmental arch, followed by seven blocked arches. The fourth arch contains a small fixed light, while the fifth and sixth arches have doorways with wooden doors and the sixth also has a stable door with an overlight. The seventh arch features a single 20th-century casement. Further to the right, there are two doorways under segmental arches with wooden stable doors and overlights, along with another single 20th-century casement. Above these are 11 casements, with the ninth from the left being larger and the tenth being smaller. This building is included for its group value only.
