BABWORTH RANBY HALL LANE (south side) Barn and attached stable block at Ranby Hall

Barn and stable block. Late C18. Dressed coursed rubble, render and red brick. Dressed coursed rubble barn with hipped pantile roof. 2 1/2 storeys. Having a central doorway with double wooden door under a segmental arch and blocked ventilation slits. Projecting from the right is a dressed rubble and rendered 2 storey, 11 bay wing with hipped pantile roof, 3 brick ridge stacks, single brick gable stack and further single brick stack at the front. The 7 bays with blocked arches slightly project. From left to right there is a single blocked doorway under a segmental arch, 7 blocked arches, the 4th containing a single small fixed light, 5th with doorway with wooden door, 6th with doorway with wooden stable door and overlight and the 7th with single C20 casement, further right are 2 doorways under segmental arches with wooden stable doors and over lights and a single C20 casement. Above are 11 casements, the 9th from the left being larger, the 10th being smaller. Included for group value only.
