CAROL GATE 1. 5345 (East Side) SK 7080 NE 2/82 No 77 II GV 2. Early C19. 3 storeys in brick with pantile roof and dentil brick eaves cornice. New Street elevation has 3 windows in moulded flush surrounds with stone keystones, hung sashes with glazing bars, on 2 storeys. 2 similar windows to ground floor, 1 retains shutters. Door of 6 panels in moulded wood surround with rectangular fanlight, glazing bars, keystone. Elevation to Carolgate has 1 window on 2 storeys above shop front with plain pilasters.

Nos 71 and 73 form a group with Nos 77 to 83 (odd) of which Nos 71 and 73 are buildings of local interest.
