Description

The monument located 10 yards south of the chancel of the Church of St. Andrew is dedicated to Major T. N. Dalton, who was killed in 1854 at the Battle of Inkerman. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features three steps leading up to a rectangular base, which has faded and illegible inscriptions. Above the base are pointed blind traceried panels with cusping, as well as tall gables adorned with crockets and finials. At the top, there is a tall pinnacle that includes more crockets, protruding busts at the corners, and an ornate cross finial. This monument is included for its group value only.
